Contrasting Pre Seasons
It’s less than a fortnight until the new season and Blackpool FC are still to add to the lowly eight contracted players that constitute their first team squad. With management and board in a stand-off and the manager having banned anyone from talking to the press no one who supports the Seasiders know when this nightmare is going to end.

The Return of the Brummie Bashers
Birmingham City are closing in on the Bosman free transfer of Clayton Donaldson from Brentford to bolster their frontline. The 30-year-old striker would be the seventh signing of the summer if he does come to the club following the Bosman captures of Jonathan Grounds, Stephen Gleeson, David Edgar, Wes Thomas and Gavin Gunning along with the loan signing of Grant Hall.

Hall Right Now
Birmingham City have boosted their ranks with the season long loan signing of Grant Hall from Tottenham Hotspur. The 22-year-old centre-back played on loan at Swindon Town last season and was an ever-present for the Robins in League One until injury struck.

Two Weeks In
Today marks two weeks since (according to Jeremy Wray at least) SMW were told that they were the preferred bidder for purchasing a stake in Birmingham City FC. As yet there has been no announcement as to what is going to happen and life at St Andrew’s has continued as normal with the club being linked with former striker Wes Thomas.

On the Beach – Ipswich Preview
The Lee Clark midtable bandwagon moves on to Portman Road this weekend in what is probably one of the first truly midtable clashes of the season. Neither side have particularly much to play for as the division winds to a conclusion.
