Benjamin and Glyn; a tale of two goalkeepers.

It took a week or so, but it finally happened – Ben Foster left Birmingham City on a loan deal to our neighbours in Smethwick, and in return we’ve got Welsh-American keeper Glyn Oliver “Boaz” Myhill, a saving in wages and maybe a loan fee. It’s not a transfer that excites; in many fans cases it’s wound them up. What’s curious is that there is no purchase clause in Foster’s loan deal, contrary to some previous reports.

Supporters Trust update

Having floated the idea of a supporters trust on here, I’m pleased to say I’ve been deluged with emails from bluenoses who want to do something positive to help the club. Hopefully from those interested Blues fans a core working group will emerge who will be able to drive forwards the idea of a supporters trust and make it a reality.

Dear Prudence – Pannu Speaks

Talking Points sponsored by John Hicken Industrial roofing and cladding materials

It started with a tweet from Blues press officer Chris Kershaw promising an extremely positive statement. Peter Pannu has moved to reassure fans that things are ok. After three weeks or so without any news at all, we’ve been graced by two statements in two days. Aren’t we so lucky?

Supporters Trusts – A Way For Fans To Effect Change

So, the news broke. Blues are officially in the toilet financially, and whilst administration hasn’t been discussed by the board (and I’m told is not in the equation in the medium term), it’s going to be a bit of a firesale at St Andrews.

Off to Partizan IX

It’s now just nine days until the playoff round draw for the Europa League, and despite all the crap that has gone on this summer, Blues will be in the hat. The Europa league third qualifying round ties take place this Thursday and next Thursday; and there are fifteen Champions League 3rd qualifying round ties also taking place this week and next. As the losers of the Champions League ties will drop into our draw, I thought I’d take a look through last night’s results and see who could be in with us.

The Sky Is Falling

Talking Points sponsored by John Hicken Industrial roofing and cladding materials

Birmingham City messageboards, fora and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook have been chock filled to the brim tonight after Colin Tattum of the Birmingham Mail announced via BluesWorld (and subsequently tweeted) that there was to be a report in Wednesday’s paper with a “stark and sobering warning from Peter Pannu about Birmingham City’s financial plight.”
