Whilst the first team took a battering at the hands of Barnsley there was more pleasing progression for some of the players out on loan with all the Blues players playing for other clubs getting minutes on the pitch again.

Loan Report – A Mixed Bag
It was a bit of a mixed weekend for Blues loanees but pleasingly there was also plenty of game time for the young guns. Adam Rooney joined the ranks of loaned out Blues players this week having swapped places with Paul Caddis to take the number of Blues players on temporary transfer to four.

Injuries and Cover
With Stephen Caldwell hobbling off the pitch last night suffering with a groin injury, Blues are stripped even further to the bone injury-wise. If we take the worst-case scenario that none of the currently injured players are fit to return against Brighton at the weekend Blues are back down to four senior defenders; one true first-team central midfielder and a bunch of wingers and strikers. Buzzing for the Hornets? Watford Preview

Leamington Put The Brakes On Senior Cup Hopes
Blues bowed out of the Birmingham Senior Cup last night after a poor 2-1 defeat to Leamington Town. Despite taking the lead in the first half through Ashley Sammons, Blues weren’t at the races in the second period and Leamington’s pressure told as they pulled the tie back before hitting the winner with 7 minutes to go.
