Jonathan Spector has been ruled out for up to around six weeks after fracturing his cheekbone in freak circumstances in the final minutes of last week’s private friendly defeat against MK Dons. The American international took a tumble and slammed his face into an opponents knee.

Spector Signs
Jonathan Spector yesterday signed a new two-year deal with Birmingham City to complete the list of players offered new contracts. The 27-year-old American has been with the club since the summer of 2011 after signing on a Bosman free transfer from West Ham United and has made seventy-seven appearances for Blues, scoring once.

The Hull Daily Mail is reporting that the deal for Curtis Davies to move to newly-promoted Hull City is close to completion. The Leytonstone-born stopper, who signed for Blues for £3.5mil in January 2011 is apparently close to a deal that will see him sign for the Tigers for a fee reported to be in the region of £2.25mil.

Redmond out, Spector and Elliott staying?
