Gary Rowett
Managers and Them
It’s that time of year again when Gary Rowett is linked to the once again vacant manager post across the expressway as their latest saviour fails miserably. For the fourth time in less than a year, they’re changing manager – and as you might expect of a fanbase which is oh so slightly obsessed with […]

October Positivity
Birmingham City enter the October international break in a strong position after beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at St Andrew’s on Saturday. That result leaves Blues in 6th place on 20 points having lost fewer games than any other team in the division.

Save the Saviour?
Paul Caddis completed 90 minutes today for Blues Development Squad as they won their PDL clash with Ipswich 3-2 at Playford Road. The full-back has only featured in the first team once this season, playing wide right in the 1-0 extra time loss to Oxford United in the EFL Cup.

Wavering Faith
Birmingham City crashed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers at St Andrew’s on Saturday. A first half opener from home debutant Che Adams was cancelled out by second half strikes from Joe Mason, Danny Batth and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

Mediocrity and Boredom
A late goal denied Blues all three points on Tuesday as Gary Rowett’s men continued their unbeaten start to the league season. David Davis’ first half finish after Clayton Donaldson had his penalty save was cancelled out late on as one again Craig Davies scored past the team he supported as a youngster. With Blues on five points after three games, have people like me been overly harsh on the team?

Time, Money and Youth
Birmingham City take on Roda JC Kerkrade in their final warm-up before the new season starts today, having failed to add any further players to the team in the last two weeks. Gary Rowett has bemoaned a culture of “overpaying” for players as a reason for not being able to bring in Che Adams from Sheffield United with the club having had two bids knocked back.

Striking Options
Gary Rowett was quoted yesterday on the official Birmingham City website as saying that a lack of end product in front of goal was an issue. This came after what was a fairly toothless performance at Easter Road against a second string Hibernian team with just two weeks left before the start of the season.

Insipid Blues Lose to Hibs in Flat Friendly
Birmingham City went down 1-0 to Hibernian at Easter Road this afternoon in a very flat performance. Hibs, who put out a virtual second string side, didn’t have the lion’s share of possession but looked threatening in front of goal and it was no surprise when James Keatings finally broke the deadlock.

June Swoon
June is upon us and in my eyes anyway, the transfer season proper. With football contracts traditionally expiring on July 1 this is the time of year now to tie up the Bosman free transfers and to get a head start on who will come in before pre-season starts up again.

Turner Unlikely; Striker and Winger to Come In
What is it with ex-Blues players and known Blues fans being linked with transfers to the club? Yesterday it was the turn of Cardiff centre-back and known Blues fan Ben Turner to be linked to a move to St Andrew’s by various sources.
