Late Night Positivity
Lee Clark has hinted in recent days that he may abandon the thought of bringing in a further player such is his positive impression of the younger players of his squad in pre-season. Demarai Gray, Reece Brown and Koby Arthur have all impressed Clark greatly and have seemingly made claims on staying in his first team squad.

Blues Youngsters offered new deals
Birmingham City confirmed yesterday that new deals have been offered to eight second-year scholars. Four will be offered one year professional deals while the other four will be offered third year scholar terms. With Reece Brown and Demarai Gray already signed up it represents 100% retention of the age group.

Into the Hornets Nest: Watford Preview

More Reason to be Cheerful
Birmingham City advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup last night with a 3-0 victory over League Two side Bristol Rovers. Goals from Paul Robinson and Chris Burke (2) ensured that Blues will face Swansea City at the end of this month for a place in the last sixteen.

Opportunities
Blues saw their ten match unbeaten run come to an end at the weekend with defeat to playoff chasing Brighton and Hove Albion. Yet despite the defeat signalling an end to a run which stretched back a couple of months there are still reasons to be positive.

Gray, Brown and Bell
Demarai Gray signed his first professional contract with Birmingham City on Monday which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2016. With Reece Brown close to sealing his first deal and Amari’i Bell being recalled from loan to potentially join the first team group Blues are again showing that they are looking towards their younger players to fill out the squad.

The Rise of Reece Brown
Reece Brown made his debut in Birmingham City’s 3-0 defeat to Burnley, capping a meteoric rise for the seventeen year old. Capped by England at u17 level, Brown made his debut despite still being an academy scholar and is working towards his first professional contract.
