Gary Rowett
Is the blip over?
Birmingham City took another valuable point on the road at Deepdale on Tuesday night – but for a bit more potency in front of goal and the efforts of the Preston keeper it could have been all three. Is this the end of the blip in the Rowett Revolution?

Competing with the big boys
Birmingham City might consider themselves unfortunate to only have come away from the Riverside with a point following the admission from captain Michael Morrison that he really should have scored a 90th minute header.

Three Players
Gary Rowett mentioned this morning in the Birmingham Mail that he is hoping to bring in three players in the January transfer window to help bolster his somewhat faltering side.

Frustration Again: Hudderfield Reflections
Birmingham City slumped to another defeat yesterday, losing to Huddersfield 2-0 to make it just one win in their last six games at home and 426 minutes since their last goal from open play at St Andrew’s.

Frustration and LAG
Today has been a frustrating day as a Blues fan. I was hoping that I’d be able to write about a new signing or two on loan and have discussion move away from LAG (Life After Gary) and to a more upbeat topic. Alas, it’s not to be – we’re still waiting Blues to bring in someone to cover Donaldson’s injury and the speculation over Rowett’s future has become ever more rampant.

Distractions and Windows
Speculation linking Gary Rowett to the vacant hotseats at Craven Cottage and Loftus Road seems to have hit fever pitch today with the bookies installing Rowett as favourite to take the role at Fulham which Steve Clarke has declined. With the loan window closing tomorrow and the club reportedly chasing two players it’s a distraction that we don’t need right now.

Sourcing Striker Replacements
News broke after the 1-0 defeat to Charlton that striker Clayton Donaldson has a groin injury that will keep him out of action for six weeks. It’s a blow for Blues who now only have Nicolai Brock-Madsen as a recognised fit striker in the squad and with the loan window ending on Thursday it makes for what could be a nervy week.

Possession
One of the biggest discussions I’ve seen among Blues fans is the whole possession argument. Blues have very much set up as a counter-attacking team and one cannot argue with the results – it has definitely worked. How important is possession anyway?

Do Blues Need To Sign Anyone?
Birmingham City were today linked with Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw along with four other clubs in today’s Daily Mail. The 23-year-old who has been called up to the Wales squad for the first time in this international break is on fire in League One, having scored nine times in 20 games this season for the Saddlers.
