Even Better
Tuesday was the one year anniversary of Gary Rowett taking the helm at St Andrew’s – and the start of the glorious Rowett Revolution which has seen crowds, fun and most of all winning become synonymous with Blues again.

Nadirs and Rebuilding
I fear the world is coming to an end – Tim Sherwood has been sacked, Gary Rowett has lost a game – and I agreed with something Stan Collymore said.

The “P” Word
Paul Robinson has been quoted in the Birmingham Mail saying that the current Blues side reminds him of the characteristics of sides he has been promoted with before from the Championship. The club skipper talked about the “balance of skills” and “positive atmosphere” that are prevalent at the moment within the St Andrew’s setup.

Capitalising on Success
Blues continued their fine run of form yesterday, beating Queens Park Rangers 2-1 thanks to a header from Paul Robinson and a Paul Caddis penalty. The result leaves them level on points with 2nd place on 21, and as the second highest goalscorers in the Championship with 18 – only QPR with 19 have more.

Stalling a Revolution
Birmingham City lost 2-0 at home to Rotherham yesterday in what was a disappointing result against the team who were bottom of the league. In a performance rated as “flat” by Gary Rowett, Blues struggled to maintain any kind of possession and were beaten by goals from former Blues striker Matt Derbyshire and Tony Andreu.

The most important contract renewal of all
Birmingham City have secured seven first-team players on long-term deals this summer with David Cotterill being the latest last week. It’s marked a movement to a more medium-term vision at St Andrew’s with the core of the squad now committed to the club beyond the end of this season. Even with all these contracts being handed out I fear the club have missed one person out – possibly the most important link in the chain – Gary Rowett.
