Loan Windows
Tomorrow sees the end of the emergency loan window and it with it the last chance for Blues to sign any players – or to send any out on a temporary basis. Blues currently only have Robert Tesche, Lloyd Dyer and Rob Kiernan on loan at the club as opposed to the multitude of temporary transfers of last season. Will we bring anyone else in?

The Closing Window
Tomorrow sees the loan deadline come upon us and the last chance to make a temporary signing until January 1. Blues have already brought in Michael Morrison on loan from Charlton (as well as Guy Moussi on a temporary deal) – will Rowett look to strengthen any further before the loan window clangs firmly shut? Victory and Loanees
Birmingham City completed what was only their second league win of 2014 with a 2-1 comeback victory over Blackpool thanks to a brace from Lee Novak. The win sees Blues maintain a nine point barrier with the relegation zone in sixteenth place.

Modern Football Is Rubbish
I was alarmed to read that the Manchester United vice-chairman Edward Woodward has come out and publicly backed an idea that would see “B teams” of the big clubs playing in the football league – similar to the system used in Spain.

Stepping Stones
Former Birmingham City loanee Andros Townsend capped off a man-of-the-match performance on his full England debut on Friday with a wickedly swerving finish from outside the box as the Three Lions beat Montenegro 4-1. It topped off a meteoric rise for the Leytonstone-born winger who finished last season playing for QPR, his ninth loan move.

Affiliations and Loans
On Saturday Blues take on Watford in a clash that sees Lee Clark’s men pitted against a side pushing for automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Hornets have had a very successful season thus far but it’s not been without controversy due to their squad being underpinned by a large contingent of loanee players from abroad.

Loans, loans, loans…
Much has been made of the amount of games Blues have left to play this season (a minimum of seventeen), and the current thinness of the squad over the last few days. The sale of Beausejour seems a bit bizarre bearing in mind Blues were supposed to be okay on the money front and are now without a truly left-sided midfielder in the first team. Where do we go from here?

The Day of Reckoning
I’ve got today marked off on the calendar, and not just because it’s my Dad’s 60th Birthday. (Happy Birthday Pa!). You see, today is the first day I think Blues can properly think about bringing in loan players.
