Easter News Roundup
Easter has been weird this year, falling on the international break. It’s normally a time where there is a flurry of games in quick succession which can make or break a season – this year the only thing that I’ve seen broken has sadly been Jack Butland’s ankle in England’s excellent 3-2 win over Germany.

Forest Reflections
Blues could only away with a point from the City Ground in what was a scrappy game. Jon Toral headed the visitors in front only for Matt Mills to equalise shortly after, heading home David Vaughan’s free kick.

Changes Afoot?

Gary Rowett has talked about the need for Birmingham City to improve their defensive record if they are to regain the form that saw the side briefly in the top two of the division. One clean sheet in the past six games allied to the loss to injury of attacking threats David Cotterill and Clayton Donaldson have made life very tough for Rowett’s men of late.

Paul Caddis is the third Birmingham City player to sign a contract extension with the club confirming yesterday that the Scot has signed a new deal that will keep him at St Andrew’s until 2017. Caddis has made 118 appearances for Blues, scoring 12 times and has regularly been captain when club skipper Paul Robinson hasn’t been in the first eleven.

Blues Buzzing With Victory Over the Bees
Birmingham City returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Brentford in an entertaining game at St Andrews. A James Tarkowski own goal was the difference between the two sides and means Blues are now eleven points outside of the relegation slots with twelve games to go.

Bournemouth Preview in Association with EZE Group

St Andrews sees its first match of the post-Lee Clark era today with the visit of Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth. With just one home win in 24, co-caretaker managers Malcolm Crosbie and Richard Beale will know the home fans are desperate for something to cheer about – particularly after last night’s win for Fulham dumped Blues into the drop zone.
