Defensive Cover

Birmingham City held Sheffield Wednesday to a goalless draw last night as they continued their fine run of league form. However, the point came at a price as defender Michael Morrison was withdrawn halfway through the first half with an ankle problem, leaving Blues short in the centre of defence.

Birmingham City take on Reading at St Andrews hoping to bounce back after a poor showing against Blackpool led to a 1-0 defeat – the first of Gary Rowett’s reign. It could see the second coming of Nikola Zigic in a Blues shirt after it was confirmed the Serb has received his visa and clearance in time to be registered for the game.

Bournemouth Preview in Association with EZE Group

Dear Lee: Leeds Preview

Blues face Leeds today in what is a crunch game in the Championship – win it and the teams around us lose and we are virtually mathematically safe; the reverse and we are in deep trouble. A game without a win today also sets a much unwanted all-time record in the Championship of seventeen home league games without a win. Centre Halves

Paul Robinson picked up his tenth booking of the season against Swansea City and will now miss the next two games against Derby County and Leicester City. Kyle Bartley is returning from injury and will compete for a spot with Hayden Mullins and Will Packwood but longer term Birmingham City will need to do something about the centre half spot.
