Cotterill and Maghoma
Gary Rowett yesterday confirmed to the official Birmingham City website that David Cotterill is still suffering from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the Wales European Championship qualifiers and that it’s likely he will miss the next two games against QPR and Bolton.

The Rise of Viv Solomon-Otabor
London-born winger Viv Solomon-Otabor is the latest Academy product tipped to become a first team success. Having made his debut in the Capital One Cup against Gillingham the teenager has made four appearances from the subs bench each of which showing promise.

Defeated but not disappointed
Birmingham City were narrowly beaten in the second city derby thanks to a second-half Rudy Gestede header. Jacques Maghoma could have equalised shortly after but saw his effort easily smothered by Brad Guzan.

Viv Solomon-Otabor Called Up For Super Eagles Camp
The official Blues website have today reported that Viv Solomon-Otabor has been called up by Nigeria for a training camp ahead of their preparations for their U23 playoff first leg against Congo in July.

Blues Reserves in Comfortable Win
Blues u21s ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Ipswich last night in their Professional Development League game. Goals from Reece Brown and Viv Solomon sealed the win for Blues who could and possibly should have won by more. Gavin Gunning, Michael Morrison and Matt Green all returned after injury absences.

A Cold Night In Coleshill – Birmingham Senior Cup Match Reflections
Birmingham City’s Development Squad won their Birmingham Senior Cup semi-final tie against Coleshill on penalties following a 0-0 draw. A cold night saw both teams draw a blank and it took sudden death spot kicks to seperate the two. Blues will now face West Bromwich Albion or Nuneaton in the Final.

Solomon-Otabor Signs
Teenage winger Viv Solomon-Otabor is the latest academy product to sign on the dotted line at St Andrews, penning a one year contract with a one year option yesterday. The 18-year-old has yet to play for the first team but was a regular in the u21 side and made 12 appearances on loan for Skrill North side Oxford City at the end of last season.

Blues Youngsters offered new deals
Birmingham City confirmed yesterday that new deals have been offered to eight second-year scholars. Four will be offered one year professional deals while the other four will be offered third year scholar terms. With Reece Brown and Demarai Gray already signed up it represents 100% retention of the age group.
