Vaughan Signs

James Vaughan has become the first signing of the winter transfer window, signing on loan until the end of the season with a one year permanent deal agreed after that. The 27-year-old former Everton man has failed to hit the back of the net so far for Blues in six appearances while on emergency loan but supplied the ball for Maikel Kieftenbeld to score the winner in the last home game against Brentford

Stalling a Revolution

Birmingham City lost 2-0 at home to Rotherham yesterday in what was a disappointing result against the team who were bottom of the league. In a performance rated as “flat” by Gary Rowett, Blues struggled to maintain any kind of possession and were beaten by goals from former Blues striker Matt Derbyshire and Tony Andreu.

Two out on Deadline Day

Transfer deadline day is done and dusted with Birmingham City being involved in just two deals, both of which saw players leave St Andrew’s. Goalkeeper Nick Townsend has signed for Barnsley for an undisclosed fee while striker Wes Thomas has moved on loan to Swindon Town until January 2016 with no recall clause active.

Offensive Cover

Yesterday, I talked about how well stacked up Blues are at the back and my hopes that the club can bring in a young pro in to develop as a player and to be utilised as defensive cover. From reading comments on here and on social media it appears that many people are more worried about the other end of the pitch.
