Civil Wars and Rumours
Rumours of change at BIH board level seem to have intensified over the last 24 hours, with various people in the press seemingly contacted with the same information – that Carson wants certain people out of the BIH board and others in. As there has been no official statement to the Stock Exchange there is absolutely no way to verify any of this and to me at least it seems that the civil war within the Harbour Centre boardroom has by no means ended.

Taking Down The Tricky Trees
Birmingham City bounced back from their 4-0 Boxing Day defeat to Derby with a televised 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest which puts the Blues level on points with the Tricky Trees in the Championship table. David Cotterill opened the scoring with a free kick that avoided the touch of everyone before going in before Clayton Donaldson added a brace to give the Blues a comfortable margin of victory.

The Comedown
In front of the largest crowd this season at St Andrew’s this season, Birmingham City capitulated to a 4-0 defeat against Derby County. The result might have flattered the visitors slightly but there was no doubt which side was superior and Gary Rowett will now have to pick up his troops for the trip to […]

Christmas Come Early
Birmingham City go into the festive season doing something that they’ve not spoken about openly for some time – renewal of player contracts. With the financial uncertainty that has mired the club in recent years Blues have been forced to hold off on renewing deals but that seems to have changed this year with Rowett talking in the press how he’d like to hold on to Darren Randolph as an example.

Revolutions and Civil Wars
The Rowett Revolution carries on apace with Blues picking up another three points at the weekend courtesy of a well fought 1-0 win over Huddersfield. David Cotterill scored the winner with a free kick that left Huddersfield keeper Alex Smithies grasping at thin air to propel Blues up to fifteenth in the table, equidistant between the playoffs and relegation.

The Continued Rise of Demarai Gray
Since scoring a hat-trick against Reading last weekend the world seems to have sat up and taken notice of Demarai Gray. The 18-year-old has already made twenty-six first appearances for Blues and is now being offered a two year extension to his contract after nailing down his place in the first team.

BCFC Accounts Analysis
Birmingham City’s newly published accounts show that the club requires £4.4million in working capital in the short term to continue to operate. With the club posting another loss and wages being dangerously close to 100% of turnover last season it could be said that the accounts paint a bleak picture for the club.
