Carson Yeung Refused Bail

Carson Yeung’s bail application was refused this morning in the Court of Appeal. Judge Michael Lunn, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal refused bail after dismissing Carson’s grounds of appeal as unlikely to succeed.

Peter Pannu Sacked as MD and CEO of BIHL

Peter Pannu was today sacked from his roles as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Birmingham International Holdings. He remains as an Executive Director and will be up for re-election at the AGM on December 23.

No FFP Transfer Embargo for Blues

The Football League have confirmed today that following an initial analysis three clubs have failed to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements and face a transfer embargo in the next window. The three clubs – Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers – face severe restrictions on bringing in new players until their accounts are in line.

Making Changes?

Birmingham City take on Reading at St Andrews hoping to bounce back after a poor showing against Blackpool led to a 1-0 defeat – the first of Gary Rowett’s reign. It could see the second coming of Nikola Zigic in a Blues shirt after it was confirmed the Serb has received his visa and clearance in time to be registered for the game.

Who is Wang Li?

The ownership of the football club took another twist yesterday when it was disclosed to the HKSE that Yang Yuezhou has cashed out his interest in 4.86 billion conversion shares to leave him with a tiny remaining stake in the club (0.28%). What is concerning is who he has sold his stake to – and just what that means for the club.
