A Positive Start Against The Addicks? Blues v Charlton Match Preview
The Championship season starts today with the visit of Charlton Athletic to St Andrews. The Addicks, who won League One haven’t played in the second tier for three years and will be looking to make an immediate impression on their return. Blues, who thrashed Barnet 5-1 in the Cup in midweek will be looking to make it two wins in two at home as they start their quest for promotion to the top flight.

Right Back To The Drawing Board?
There was an interesting thread on smallheathalliance.com concerning the issue Blues have surrounding the right-slot. With Stephen Carr not likely to make the game, Jonathan Spector out for a while yet and now Will Packwood having picked up an injury which way do Blues go?

An impressive start
The first match of Lee Clark’s reign pointed to what could be a very good year for Blues when they played Borussia Mðnchengladbach yesterday. Whilst the draw might have flattered Blues considering the amount of spurned Gladbach chances, the performance was one of a good quality for the first game back after the summer break and showed signs of promise.

Gossip Folks – The Transfer Rumour Mill (Summer 2012 Edition) Pt II
Last week was quite the week when it came to transfers – four players and a goalkeeper coach in, three on trial and none out. So how did the media do?

Third in Twenty – Ambrose, Transfer Fees and Why Things Really Aren’t That Bad.
If reports from the South London Today are to be believed, Blues are going to do something this summer that many of us didn’t think they could and potentially pay a transfer fee for a player.

Mulling over Mullins
News broke this evening that Blues were close to signing 33-year-old Portsmouth midfielder Hayden Mullins. The player, who would cost Blues at most a nominal fee has been training with Birmingham City at Wast Hills on Wednesday and seems poised to join the club.
