Birmingham City’s newly published accounts show that the club requires £4.4million in working capital in the short term to continue to operate. With the club posting another loss and wages being dangerously close to 100% of turnover last season it could be said that the accounts paint a bleak picture for the club.

No FFP Transfer Embargo for Blues
The Football League have confirmed today that following an initial analysis three clubs have failed to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements and face a transfer embargo in the next window. The three clubs – Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers – face severe restrictions on bringing in new players until their accounts are in line.

Dimmi Dares Us To Dream – Reading Thoughts
Birmingham City returned to winning ways in style against Reading with a 6-1 thrashing of the Royals. Demarai Gray scored a first-half hat-trick as Blues scored six at home in the league for the first time in twenty years.

Gritty draws and not so gritty centre-halves – Cardiff Review
Gary Rowett’s glorious homecoming continued yesterday with a gritty 0-0 draw at home to Cardiff City. Blues were unlucky not to win with Wes Thomas’ goal controversially chalked off before the former Bournemouth frontman was given his marching orders for raising his hands to Cardiff defender Sean Morrison off the ball.
