Goals Goals Goals
Birmingham City sealed an amazing stat this weekend when Yann Kermorgant scored in the match against Charlton, clocking up an entire year without a goalless draw. The streak stretches back fifty-four games in all competitions to the match against Hull City on February 14, 2012.

The P Word
After Birmingham City concluded back-to-back wins for the first time this season in the Championship by beating Nottingham Forest 2-1, the optimists have re-emerged online and I’ve seen people dare to mention the P-word. Is it possible?

Home Wins and the Lack of Them in the Championship
I heard a statistic quoted from the Tom Ross show at the weekend about the paucity of home wins in the Championship and bearing in mind Blues have lost two on the bounce at St Andrews it set my mind thinking. Is this evidence that the Championship is more even than ever before and thus maybe proof we shouldn’t be so worried about our form as we have been?

The Season So Far In Numbers Pt II
A little while back I wrote a piece about some of the facts and figures surrounding this season, and after coming across an excellent statistics website (courtesy of NevBCFC on the BCFC Free Forums site) I thought it might be time to add some more.

The Season So Far In Numbers
With last night being our fifteenth match unbeaten in all competitions (matching the unbeatables run of 2009/10) I thought I’d take a look at some of the other statistics out there in what is turning out to be an amazing season for Blues.

Trapdoor pt II
Two and a half weeks ago, I posted this article about how I thought the relegation scrap might work out. One thing in particular I made clear was my long-held belief that this season thirty eight points would do for survival. Now we’re a bit further down the pike, and inspired by pieces like this one from the Telegraph, I thought I’d take another look.

Trap Door
How many points will guarantee Premiership safety this year? According to most pundits, 41, 42 or maybe 43 points will see Premiership clubs stay above the relegation trap door – higher than the oft-vaunted 40 points total most teams look at the start of the season. However, I believe this is wrong – I’ve said in the past 36 points would do it, and I’m still confident no more than 38 will be needed.

Shooting Boots
A constant criticism of Birmingham City this season has been the perceived lack of attacking from the team. Many posters on messageboards have had a go at McLeish for being too defensive, and for not “giving it a go” enough. From the Guardian’s excellent chalkboards function, I have compiled some statistics on just how much Blues shoot on goal, as part of a bigger plan to have all statistics on this site. Please note all statistics are league only.

Goalscorers
If there is one thing that has been a bugbear for Blues fans for as long as I can remember, it’s been the lack of a goalscorer. In the last decade, with the exception of that magical season Mikael Forssell had on loan with us, I cannot remember a season where all of our strikers […]
