Jean Beausejour
Clubman of the Season
One thing that did disappoint me about the Big City Event on Monday night that I didn’t mention previously was that there wasn’t an award for “Clubman of the Year”. It’s not that prestigious an award, but I like the idea of giving an award to someone who has done well for the club and maybe not received the plaudits, who’s been under-rated but has done the team well. With this in mind, I’ve put together my own nominations.

Hispanic Lefties
Whilst tomorrow’s match isn’t a “must-win” by any means, it would be nice if Blues could get at least a point and finally put an end to any lingering worries of relegation. Provided we don’t get hammered (again), defeat wouldn’t be that much of a catastrophe – but it would be nice if Blues could improve on an away record which has seen them pick up just two away wins in seventeen games.

Back to the Chalkboard
Having had some time to reflect on the game yesterday against Wolves, I thought it would be interesting to review and analyse in detail some of the match to show where Blues were strongest and weakest.

Unlucky for the Black Cats?
Blues can take another massive step to survival with a win against the Black Cats of Sunderland tomorrow, whilst pushing former manager Steve Bruce’s charges into a relegation dogfight. Whilst the game doesn’t have the same “must win” feeling of the last home match against Bolton, there is the sense that defeat would properly drop us back into trouble

Here are my reflections on the match against Everton last night; please be aware that I watched the game online and not at the ground. 1) A Great Point Whilst it wasn’t the best game at all to watch, it was most certainly a case of a point gained last night rather than two dropped. […]

After the Lord Mayor’s Show
Here are my reflections on the Birmingham City v WBA game. Due to illness, I was at home watching this on Sky Sports 2. 1) David Bentley is going to have to improve As things stand, I don’t think we can afford him anyway, but on today’s performance I wouldn’t sign him. He has got […]

My reflections from the FA Cup tie against Coventry City FC: 1) We do like to do things the hard way I’m not sure if it’s our way of playing up to the new respect campaign, but I’m not a fan of us giving the opposition a two goal head start, and we seem to […]

Y Viva España
After noticing Miguel Marcos Madera (Michel to his friends) wasn’t in the eighteen against Blackpool, (the third successive occasion that this has happened) I came to the conclusion that Michel is most probably on his way out of the club. It led me to thinking about Borja Oubiña, amongst others – and the thought struck […]
