Give Youth a Chance

With nine games left of the Championship season, Blues sit in fourteenth place seven points clear of the drop zone on forty-six points. Whilst relegation is still easily possible the hope would now be that Blues will be safe in the Championship for the season and can start looking to next season.

Two in a Row? Bolton Preview

The third game of the busy festive period sees Lee Clark’s patched up Blues travel to Bolton to face Dougie Freedman’s Bolton Wanderers. Both sides are in the bottom half of the Championship and will be looking for three points to help pull themselves clear.

Convincing Win For Blues Reserves in Birmingham Senior Cup

Birmingham City ran out comfortable 4-1 winners over Midland Football Alliance side Continental Star in the Birmingham Senior Cup 2nd round on a cold night in Rushall. Goals from Emmit Delfouneso, Marcel Henry-Francis, Reece Hales and Josh Hawker sealed passage to the quarter-finals whilst Tony Green replied for the home side.

Blunted by the Blades – Blues Development Squad lose to Sheffield United

Birmingham City’s Development Squad suffered a tough 2-1 defeat at the hands of their Sheffield United counterparts on a cold and blustery autumnal afternoon at Wast Hills. Goals from Danny Philliskirk and Terry Kennedy gave the young Blades the points with Papa Bouba Diop scoring Blues’ effort.

Big Win For Young Blues – Professional Development League Report vs Huddersfield Town

A cold St Andrews saw Birmingham City’s development squad comprehensively beat Huddersfield Town in their first home fixture of the Premier Development League. Blues however had a man of the match performance from goalkeeper Nick Townsend to thank as he made several saves to keep the Terriers out in the second half before Akwasi Asante made it safe.

Sunny Delight: Blues Win in Shrewsbury

Blues ran out 2-1 winners in a tough fought friendly at the Greenhous Meadow in Shrewsbury. Goals from Mitchell Hancox and Nikola Zigic sealed a win for a Blues side that saw trialist Darren Carter come on to rapturous applause in the second half.

Blues finish 4th in Sheik Hamdan Tournament

Blues lost 3-2 after extra time to French side Racing Club de Lens after coming back from two goals down to finish fourth in the Sheik Hamdan Tournament in Dubai.
