To Loan Or Not To Loan
The loan window opens tomorrow, and no doubt Chris Hughton will be making enquiries of various managers about what players are available for loan. I’ve been thinking about this, and I think it’s something worth discussing – is loaning in youngsters to bolster our squad good for the long term future of the Blues team?

A Cocky Ginger Male in the Late Spring Sun
It’s been pretty dead this week for news in relation to Birmingham City. A quick browse of Newsnow yesterday showed that nearly every news story related to Birmingham City was about Sebastian Larsson and who he might sign for – which in truth doesn’t have much relevance to us. The biggest thing on Newsnow right now is that we’re now showing as a Championship team – the harsh realities of relegation kicking in.

And Torres Still Hasn’t Scored
Here are my reflections on the Chelsea v Birmingham City game from last night. Please note that I watched this game on a dodgy internet feed rather than at the ground.

Sign him up?
As Sebastian Larsson left the pitch yesterday, the Tilton started a chorus of “sign him up”, in reference to one of the longest running sagas in Premiership football – the Seb Larsson contract situation. With just over a month left of the season, the Swedish winger has still yet to put pen to paper to prolong his stay with Blues, and as such it has to be assumed that come the start of the new season, Seb will be lining up for another team.

A tale of two mistakes
Here are my reflections on the match against Sunderland at St Andrews today:

The Left Side
It’s an important match for Birmingham City tomorrow in the race to beat the drop from the Premiership, against one of their rivals in the relegation fight Blackburn Rovers. Ewood Park has been a tough place for Blues to get points, with Blues not winning there since 1968, suffering five defeats in their last eight trips there. Defeat to Blackburn wouldn’t be the end of the world, but this is a game where Blues should be aiming to win to stay out of the drop zone and maybe force Blackburn into it.

Larsson
A few days ago, I wrote a post about players who were out of contract at the end of the current season. One of those players was Sebastian Larsson, and as there is a lack of Premiership action this weekend I thought I’d go a bit further into detail about the Swedish winger.

Contracts
As the 2010-11 season draws to a close, eleven Birmingham City players are in a position where they don’t know what club they will play for next season. Under the Bosman ruling, they are free to talk to any club outside of the English League system about a contract for next year, but will have to wait until June 1 before they can discuss terms with another English team. I thought I’d take a look at those eleven players in a bit more detail.

What if
Wembley. It’s almost upon us blues fans, and already the nerves are kicking in. Realistically, having seen Birmingham City tonked by Arsenal at home this season Blues have no chance of winning it – but there is that tiny spark of hope that remains, that keeps saying what if… What if Seb Larsson is on […]

Stoke Preview
It’s been a quiet week at St Andrews whilst some players have been on international duty, and hopefully the rest will have done the squad some good before tomorrow’s visit of Stoke City. Having had a quick scan through the injury list, it would appear that barring long term absentees Scott Dann and James McFadden, […]
